Challenges & The Challenge Valley

There is a new feature in the JOTA-JOTI 2020 edition where registered users are able to participate in Challenges.

As Helpdesk agents, here are some very important points for you to understand:

1. There are a number of Challenges throughout the campsite. Challenges are bundled into the activities a registered user can participate in. As an example, in the Celebration Arena campsite, a user may participate in the "Celebrating 10 years of MOP" activity. Registered JOTA-JOTI 2020 participants may also refer to the Challenge code as "Activity Codes".

2. During the activity, some questions, quizzes, puzzles, or something similar may be posted or asked.

3. Participants who complete the question, quizzes, or puzzles will be given a Challenge code by the Activity Coordinator.

4. A list of codes is available for each activity and is only accessible by the Program & Activity Coordinators. The list of codes is NOT accessible by helpdesk agents or JOTA-JOTI 2020 participants.

5. Registered JOTA-JOTI participants who have completed Challenges will use the code to redeem a badge in the Challenge Valley. The Challenge Valley looks like the image below:

6. For each badge, there are 5 challenges. Registered JOTA-JOTI participants can complete as many challenges as they want.

7. In the Challenge Valley, the registered participant can input his/her code as shown in the image below:

8. Once the participant has completed all 5 challenges associated with a Badge, the participant can redeem the digital badge.

9. The participant's digital badge stays with the participant's profile only on the JOTA-JOTI site. It is not exported to the participant's scout.org account. This will be something we develop for JOTA-JOTI 2021.

10. As this is a new feature, Helpdesk agents are to track and tag all tickets with issues related to Challenges and the Challenge Valley. Please add the Tag "Challenge". To the ticket, if you encounter a Challenge or Challenge Valley ticket. The screenshot below shows you where to update the Tag.
