Someone gave me a code, but it doesn't look like a JID. What's going on?

If someone gives you a code that doesn’t match the JID format, it’s likely a callsign from an amateur radio operator.Radio operators participating in JOTA-JOTI will use a licensed callsign, and some may even use a special event callsign just for JOTA-JOTI. These callsigns are not part of the JamPuz system.If the radio station or location completes the JOTA-JOTI registration process, they’ll receive a proper JamPuz JID code as well.Tip: Registration is open throughout the event, but we encourage stations to sign up before JOTA-JOTI begins.
